Lindsey Maestri was born in Northwest Arkansas and shares her birthplace with that of the world’s largest retailer and largest poultry producer. She has yet to pinpoint the effect of these facts on her upbringing in the region, but is fairly sure that it exists. In 2005, she graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics and Art Education. She left Arkansas and headed for Tampa, Florida where she attended a Post Baccalaureate program at the University of South Florida. In 2007, she was accepted to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts in 2010. She lived briefly in Houston, Texas where she taught at two local colleges before moving to Murray, Kentucky where she currently resides. She is an adjunct instructor at Murray State University and the University of Tennessee, Martin. In addition to teaching, she is a working artist who has shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad.
